Q:

Is my period pain normal?

So pretty much everytime I get my period i get bad cramps. Sometimes it's really bad and sometimes it's just mild pain. But this time round it's only just endurable. I got the cramps about 3 days before my period started and am still currently experiencing the pain as I am on the first day of my period. I don't usually get the pain before my period starts tho :/. Also, after the pain in my lower back and stomach had calmed down this morning, my lower right side abdomen was aching. Is it normal for that to hurt? Many thanks :)

Guide

Hello and welcome to EmpowHer,
Cramps during your period occur because the muscles contract to push out the uterine lining. This is normal. The severity can vary from light to severe and can start 3 days before your period and continue till the end. In other words, cramps can last up to 10 days.
Cramps occur around the uterus in lower abdomen.
Most women take pain killers during their period.
