I'm quite anxious because i've never been late in my life, i'm always early if anything, and i haven't had my period in about forty days. I'm really worried because i hadn't noticed but i weighed myself recently and i've gained a few pounds. I can't be pregnant right? I am a virgin. Thank you!

I started my period 3 months ago. It’s now about a week late. I’m a virgin and I’ve never even got close to even holding hands with anyone. But im super worried and I’ve been stressing a lot over it lately. Anything will be helpful.

At your age irregularity is not uncommon as you are still maturing. There are other reasons why you may have a late/missed period also. The most common are - stress, a change in routine, hormonal imbalance, excessive exercise, illness, a poor diet, taking medications, changing birth control methods, weight gain or weight loss, thyroid issues, eating disorders or a change in body chemistry.

At your age, it's not uncommon to experience some period irregularity, even if you are typically regular. Your body is still maturing. Many things can impact the menstrual cycle, stress, a change in body chemistry, illness, a change in lifestyle, etc. Try to relax and wait for your period to arrive.

It's never normal for your period to just stop. You need to see a doctor who can examine you and diagnose the reason for this.
