I need a referral to a good eye doctor in the Phoenix area. The bad news is that I don't have vision insurance; the good news is that this does not limit me as far as choosing a doctor:-) I don't think that I have any serious vision problems. Still, it will probably be my first prescription of bifocals, so I want to go to a good doctor and lens maker/framer. Thanks for your suggestions.

Hey Cheryl, believe it or not, I've had pretty good luck with the eye care center at Costco. After nearly two decades of wearing glasses, I had a thorough exam and discovered I only need to wear glasses now for driving at night. I don't believe I had full vision coverage at the time and don't remember finding their prices too out of control. Might be worth looking into.
