Hi, It's been more than a week I'm in pain and have discomfort because of scoliosis and sciatica. I'm in treatment for this and I'm going through lots of stuff because of this. What's bothering me the most is because of my back issue any kind of pain I experience the pain gets on my nerves right away. For example I have headache or any pain and I take Tylenol it's not good enough for me so I also take gabapentin with it. This is how bad pain is for me. My whole back and body is filled with nerve pain recently and pain like this I don't know how explain it to my doctor. From how I feel I actually take gabapentin as needed for such pain. I want to know do you know if there is anything for me to take by asking my doctor to give

me something that relaxes the nerves? This is something that I really need and I don't know if there such available. If you know anything about this please let me know soon.

Hello and welcome to EmpowHer,
Since medication is not working for your nerve pain, I highly suggest that you try alternative solution. Below I have pasted a couple links the talk about different treatments for chronic pain that do not involve pain medication.

How to Manage Chronic Pain Without Painkillers
I hope that helps.

Hi, thanks for letting me know. I saw the links and in my situation if for example it's not something safe for me im wondering would there be anything to help relax nerves? Do you even think if such thing is available? Should I say this to my neurologist as a neurologist what would you think he will do? Please let me know.

Hi Melissa,
Your neurologist would know the most about the best solution for you, especially since he knows more specifics about your nerve condition.
