i was taken to hospital wednesday in ambulance. thursday they did tilt table test which i tested positive. i passed out. i have not felt well for months, my dr had me wear a heart monitor for a month. to my knowledge i never had pvc. i have woke up a few times gasping for air. from my understanding this is from laying or sitting to standing up. i can be sitting or laying & not getting up & get dizzy & light headed. my mother has electrical problem with her heart which never showed up on ekg or blood work & she went to hospital thinking she had ate some bad food. all her blood work, ekg was normal & she flat lined. they life flighted her to a bigger hospital & they told her she was fine her blood work & ekg was normal & she did it again. she now has a pace maker. we discussed my symtoms not knowing hers & they were the same. my left arm has ached & i would sit up in recliner not laying down did not want to feel this way. just trying to see if this is what i truly have neurocadiogenic syncope since i feel bad lying down or just sitting? they told me to eat 15 grams of salt a day & drink lots of water. i drink lots of water since i donated my kidney to my husband in 2008.

missie,
thank you for speaking with me. at the hospital the dr.'s said i had ncs. i think i just wanted to make sure & was in denial. i fainted at work & ambulance came & took me to hospital. i have almost fainted a few times before that but had never fainted & didn't know thats what was going on. i woke up this morning not feeling well my husband got me some pretzels & i ate salt off of them & after awhile could get out of bed. i never thought or would have seen myself talking on a site of any kind. i donated my kidney to my husband in 2008 & was fine didn't even look on internet. words can not express when i saw someone had answered, i started to cry. i do not know how to explain my family is loving & cares but to see that you wrote
means more than words could say--Thank You

Hi Debra,
Thank you for your question and welcome to EmpowHer. How many times have you fainted or passed out? Is this a common occurance? Do you have a rapid heartbeat?

Unfortunately, you may have to see your physician for a proper diagnosis. Here is a link for information about NCS http://www.dinet.org/NCS/ncs.htm but follow up with your physician is certainly necessary especally since you may have heart issues in your family. I hope this information helps. Keep us posted.
