Hello gayathri298,

Breast nipples appear prominent or as you say "erect" when you are sexually stimulated or exposed to cold temperatures. In these two situations, the nipples return to normal.

You mention that this is constant along with pain.

Following conception, the breasts will often feel tender, swollen and ‘fuller’. Some women also experience tingling sensations.

By about 12 weeks of the pregnancy, the skin of the nipple and areola may start to darken or ‘pigment’. The nipples may become more prominent and feel quite sensitive or even sore.

You need to confirm whether or not the emergency contraceptive worked or not. If you do not have any vaginal bleeding within three weeks of taking the pill, that would be October 10, take a home pregnancy test.

If you are really worried about these changes in your breast, please call your primary care physician or gynecologist.

Regards,
Maryann
