Not sure what is going on

I had my normal period start May 14 , 2014. Lasted the normal 4 days. My cycle is 26 or 28 days. I am due for my cycle to start 6/9/14 so I have not missed my period. However, on May 23rd my boyfriend and I had sex with a condom but there was an "oopsie" moment (condom slipped off inside of me). On May 31st, I thought I had started my period early due to some cramping out of the blue. When I wiped there was a streak of pink on the tissue paper. I placed a pad (again thinking i was starting super early). The next morning when I woke up, there was a small brown dot on the pad. This "spot" situation lasted for three days. Yesterday and today, my pad have been empty but I am cramping. Not severely but just enough to be annoyed by. I can't say that I think I'm pregnant because I do not know! I can't use my breast as a signal because I had a double mastectomy and no longer have nipples or breast tissue (a very tiny amount is left). I am BRCA2 positive (mutation) and I am mostly concerned for knowing this may be an ovary issue. So, with the info on the early spotting issue, and a little bit of my health issues, should I be leaning towards early pregnancy symptoms, or ovarian cyst/cancer issue. Please help

Hello memememeee,

With a history of BRCA2 positive and a double mastectomy, I can understand your concern.

In general, symptoms of an ovarian cyst include:
pain or bloating in the abdomen
difficulty urinating or a frequent need to urinate
dull ache in the lower back
pain during sexual intercourse
abnormal bleeding and painful menstruation
weight gain
nausea or vomiting
loss of appetite and feeling full quickly

This may sound crazy, but my first thought after reading your post, was could the condom have caused some irritation when it come off inside you? Did it come out easily or did you have to pick it out?

I would say, wait until June 9 and see if your period starts and lasts four days as it normally does. If the cramping continues and worsens,
considering your history, give your doctor a call.

Regards,
Maryann

Thank you so very much, Maryann! I will certainly wait to see what happens on the 9th. I am no longer cramping but still no bleeding. The condom "oopsie" ended with my boyfriend removing it (it was inside). I am glad that you understand my concern about being BRCA2 positive and being concerned about my ovaries. Lots of my friends do not understand. Thank you once again!

Hello memememeee,

You are so very welcome!

I understand because I was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer last year. I had a right mastectomy and chemotherapy because I scored high on the Oncotype DX. This is my second primary cancer. The first was esthesioneuroblastoma, a rare type of brain cancer. Once you are diagnosed with cancer, you are always concerned with any changes in your health.

Be strong!
Maryann
