8 months ago I had unprotected sex. It was very dry and somewhat rough I bleed during sex because he was too big for me. The next day I was sore when I walked. The day after that I noticed I had what looked like a sore next to the opening of my vagina it hurt but healed within about 4 days, it didn't scab or have any discharge and hurt if I touched it. I was very afraid it was herpes but it was only one sore I had no real symptoms of herpes. I have not had anything come back since and it was the only time I had sex with that person but I recently found out he had cheated on me before the encounter now I am afraid. Is it herpes or a sore/tear from the sex? I have an appointment with my doctor but won't be able to see her for another 2 weeks.

Hello and thank you for sharing your question.  I'd love to give you some insight on the matter.

First of all, I'd like to put your mind at ease.  You do not have herpes, or another STD of some kind.  Since it is only one sore with no scab and no discharge it is most likely an ingrown hair.

Ingrown hairs can often look exactly like a boil or even a wart.  Since you only have one the treatment is simple.  Do not pop with a needle or squeeze.  These actions can cause further irritation or even infection.

What you need to do is soak the area in warm or hot water.  Over time it will drain and heal.
