Hi, I have a few question to ask to be sure about something's because I'm going to have surgery done end of next month and there are a few things I want to know. I have something on my skin called sebaceous cyst and my doctor is going to remove it through surgery and while I'm going through surgery he will also do a breast biopsy and it's my first time that I'm going to have such things done from my doctor.
1. I want to know having breast biopsy done will the doctor mark the area of concern before doing the surgery or you think I should mention the area of concern I have?

2. I trust this doctor who is doing my surgery I've been going to him for a long time and there is something I still want to be sure about. The nurse at there office always helps me with any concern or problem and I want to ask her to be sure by hearing from someone in there office that I'd feel better knowing how well of a surgeon he is? Do you think such thing I ask there nurse is okay? I know I'm in good care and hands from such doctor I know but a part of me just wants to hear it from someone. I hope you know what I mean from here.
3. They told me I should have someone to drive me home the day of the surgery, I don't have anyone to drive me home and I have two options from here to tell them that one is if it's okay I take a taxi home and second is I have a neighbor who I know I can ask if she can drive me home, do you think such thing I tell my doctor office they accept such thing?

Please let me know about these soon.
Thanks,
Melissa

Melissa6666,

You do not need to mark the area of concern as of yet. Until you see your doctor, he will work with you to mark himself the area you feel the lump. The ultrasound can record if you have a cyst and the size of it. The biopsy will be able to give your doctor information, if the cyst is malignant or benign.

Best,

Daisy

Thanks for letting me know. For this he is doing a biopsy and from what your explaining do you mean in general when a person has breast biopsy done the doctor first marks the area of concern before starting the procedure? Is this how they do it? Please let me know.
Thanks,
Melissa

Melissa6666,

Any concerns you might have before your surgery or biopsy is perfectly normal to ask the nurse. You can also discuss with them your mean of transportation after the surgery.

Best of luck,

Daisy

Hi, Thank you for your reply. What I'm wondering is by biopsy can they tell if you have a cyst or something? I also want to know if I mark the area of concern I have day of my surgery is it good to do this so my doctor would know where is my problem?
