Oral HIV Test

Hello,
I was sexually assaulted by someone with unknown HIV status about a year ago. I used an oraquick HIV test today and it gave me a negative result. I keep reading that 1 in 13 people will get a false negative. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Hi Anonymous,

You should always consult with your doctor for the proper testing and followup as HIV results should always be given by a blood test.

I hope this helps and good luck.
