Hi Anon

Thank you for your question.

It depends on what you are trying to prevent. If you want to prevent pregnancy, then yes. But if yu are trying to prevent STIs (Sexually Transmitted Infections), then not so much. You can spread or contract Clamydia, HIV , gonorrhea, syphillis, to name a few, thru oral sex.

You can decrease the chances of giving or getting STIs during oral sex can be lowered by using a condom or dental dam.

I hope this helps.

Be well,

Can oral sex or BJ cause you to have health problems?
It's just that I gave my partner an BJ & straight after I was having discharge & bleeding. It's like clots of fresh blood. I know it's not period as I'm not due yet. It has lasted for few days now since I gave my partner bj. I don't know whether this is a sign or cause of infection. Can u advice please?
