pain after a hysterectomy

I am 41 yrs old and i had not had a pap since my son was born 16 yrs ago. I started keeping infecitons so i went to have a pap done it came back after many test that i had cervical cancer and i had a hysterectomy Dec. 14th 2010. my surgery went good but i had complications with a bad infection on my stomach and stayed in hopsital for about 2 wks. now after that i am having severe pain in my abdomin. i am afraid the infection is back. What should i do? i just went and had a cat scan done..i havent gotten the results back yet.Do you think the cancer has or will come back///.Thanks for your help

Dear Anon,

I am sorry you've had to endure all of this-- sounds like you're a very strong woman. Due to your previous history, there is no one better than your doctor for you to see about this.
Stomach pain does not necessarily mean that you have another infection or that the cancer has returned but it is an indication that you should either call or schedule an appointment with your Physician.
