Hello Anonymous,

Mastalgia is the medical term for breast tenderness and sharp burning pain in the breast tissue. The pain can be constant or may occur only occasionally.

Anonymous, how would you describe the pain and burning?

Mastalgia can be cyclic meaning that it occurs before your period or noncylic, Noncyclic pain is most common in women 30 to 50 years of age and may occur in only one breast.

Breast pain can worsen with changes in your hormone levels or changes in medication that you may be taking.

Regards,
Maryann
