I had a flu shot Sept. 2008 and remember it hurt when given. Since then I have pain in my upper arm and shoulder (it's now been a year). I believe it is nerve damage from the needle going to deep. I have had an MRI. meds and now going to Chiro with no relief. I cant't put my arm behind my back or lift it over my head and forget about putting weight on it. Does anyone know of relief for this condition?

Thanks

If a nerve hurts there is inflammation. You can ice it for up to 20 minutes every two hours. Please have your D3 and B12 checked. Anti-inflammatories do help if taken in prescribed dosages. Even if it's painful you need to slowly increase your activity. You need oxygen pumped by your heart to promote healing. Try some breathing exercises. Please see your doctor!

I asked my neices and nephews whom are physicians at our Christmas party about the injection site and the pain I'm still experiencing. They concurred that is was nerve damage from a poorly placed injection and it will take time to heal!

I had the nerve pain, etc. when I had a DTaP shot about 2 years ago. The pain is finally going away and I have pretty much regained use of the arm. Last month, I bravely took the seasonal flu injection in the opposite arm believing that I wouldn't have any reaction since it was a totally different vaccine. Well, I'm back to having severe nerve pain in that arm now. My family MD, orthopaedist, and neurologist all concurred that the reaction to DTaP must have been from the vaccine. I've only visited my family MD so far for the flu shot reaction. He seems to think there's something similar in both vaccines. (From what I've read, I think it's the thimerosol preservative.) Now I'm wondering it it could have been placement of the shot. Anyway, I'm so sorry you're suffering. I was given nerve pain meds that seemed to help more than anything else. Take heart in that although a painfully slow process, the nerve pain did subside in about 20 months. God Bless you.

Oh geez! How long do they think it will take? I didn't know nerve damage can heal on it's own.So far i've been trying this Glucosamine Pain Relief Gel and the Glucosamine Vitamins 500mg and 800mg Motrin and a hot compress. I do feel a little better with all this stuff but i still feel the pain but not as bad as it was a few days ago.I just hope the Nerve damage will really heal. It's hard to believe when you have to deal with this pain everyday. It does also hurt more after doing an activity.Thank you to that nice person who prayed for me at their church.Thank you again for everyone that posts info.We all need hope! Happy Holidays!

I wonder if we can get a nerve block if it is pain from a nerve?

A standard blood chemistry panel will provide your doctor with your levels of vitamin D3. The test is called 25(OH)D. The existing guidelines state that a deficiency is anything below 50nmol/l, but recent studies show that 80 nmol/l is needed to keep healthy bones and enable vitamin D to perform its other roles in the body. Mercury contamination can cause malabsorption of nutrients among other things.
Vitamin D deficiency could cause include heart disease, chronic pain, Fibromyalgia, hypertension, arthritis, depression, inflammatory bowel disease, obesity, PMS, Crohns Disease, cancer, MS and other autoimmune diseases.
Mine was 13nmol, I was in bad shape a few months ago. I couldn't even walk. I was given 50,000 IU a week of D3. In a matter of days my health improved greatly. The funny thing is I work outside, exsposure to plenty of sunlight, and I wasn't absorbing it!

You are welcome. Have you had your D3 level checked?
