I had been doing a work out a few weeks ago and up till this week I could walk no problem. This week, however, it has become painful to walk on my whole foot, with the pain being in the middle to left of my left foot. I can't work out because I can't put any pressure on it. I've been walking on my tippy toes for the past few days and that seems to make it bearable to walk, but when I finally have to put my whole foot down it is simply painful. No visible signs of anything; No bruising, no redness, I don't feel sick, it's just the foot.
Any ideas of what the problem is or how to help it?
Thanks!

Can you tell us what you mean by, "he said it was sprung"?
You fell, and it sounds like you went to the doctor, since it is painful to walk on, and is swelling. What did your doctor say...could you update us on how you are doing?

Hi Anonymous!
Thank you so much for visiting us here at EmpowHer and for posting your question for us. Your symptoms sound exactly like when one of my girlfriends had a stress fracture in her foot. I remember looking at her foot with her and it looked totally normal but it really hurt for her to walk on it, in the same areas you mention. She went in for an X-ray and got the confirmation diagnosis from her doctor. I second Susan C's advice--please go in and get checked out--chances are you'll get an X-ray too and a diagnosis and then a treatment plan that will help the pain go away. Please let us know how you are doing and what you find out. Best in health, Michelle
