Pain query

For the last 5-6 days I've been having occasional pain. Initially it started in my left breast and that was for the first 2 days, then it stopped for 2 days, then 2 days ago I started experiencing pain somewhere around the left armpit area/side of breast; this is also occasional. I did find a blog online with women who have had similar symptoms with a couple people saying their GP diagnosed it as being menopause related.
I am 50yrs old and believe I am perimenopausal. I also wondered whether it might be muscle related as I've been doing quite a bit of lifting due to moving at my workplace over the last few weeks.

Hi Anon

Thanks for reaching out to EmpowHER with your question!

Your pain may indeed be related to your hormones - a lot of breast pain is. At 50 you are probably in perimenopause (it can start as early as the mid/late 30s). My advice is to monitor this pain as it pertains to your menstrual cycle to see if you can find a link.

Since you are exercising, your pain could be diagnosed as pulled or strained muscles. Does your pain feel dull or sharp? Is it an ache or does it feel like it's an injury? Often a woman can tell cyclical breast pain from an injury.

I hope you feel better soon!
