Pain in Right Arm Pit Area

All - I have been having pain in my right arm pit for a few weeks. When I crochet or knit, the area gets extremely sore at times. Even not moving my arm hurts. There is no redness, just tenderness. I feel a slight lump but not sure if this is normal. Being 50+, I get nervous about possible breast cancer or Hodgkin's disease. Any thoughts??

Hello Hummingbird42

Thank you for posting.

There is really no way to know what's going on until you see someone about this. But you may have swollen lymph nodes, meaning you may have a virus in your body. You may also have pulled something.
Anytime a lump is discovered in the breast or arm pit area, an exam is needed. It may be nothing at all but better safe than sorry.
Keep us posted and good luck-
Susan
