I wish that I could give you one simple answer or bit of advice.
I suspect from your comment, that he screams at you if you say anything to him, that there are unresolved issues in your relationship. This needs to be explored, identified and worked on.
When did your son first become glued to the couch? Does he stay on the couch all day ? To out the why, you may find a way to get him off of it.
