Hello, I just turned 47 yrs old & have begun menopause (confirmed by my Ob-Gyn). Last I saw my MD I felt great & was having no symptoms whatsoever, except no period. As of about a month ago, hot flashes have started & I am going crazy. My MD has offered me meds, but I am afraid. I have heard bad stories about drugs that help with menopausal symptoms, but yet these hot flashes are HORRIBLE! I am dying with heat one minute & FREEZING the next. I can't win! Any suggestions to some kind of homeopathic relief? Thanks

Hi TraciHenningson1414

Thanks for your post!

The peri-menopausal time in a woman's life is usually in motion by the time she's 47. And yes, the symptoms can come on quite rapidly and can be awful. From hot flashes to insomnia to depression and weight gain, some women get all of it, some very little. But it's certainly a big, albeit natural, transition for women.

We have an article here that can help you, regarding natural treatments: http://www.empowher.com/community/share/manage-your-menopause-symptoms-natural-treatments

and visit our peri-menopause page here for lots more information: http://www.empowher.com/condition/perimenopause

I hope this helps!
