I'm 14 years old and i started my period in June 2009 for the first time. Up until this month (August) I have been starting my period every 28-30 days. August the 6 was when i was supposed to start this month. It is now august 15 and i have had no spotting or anything. I am very worried that something is wrong. I am not sexually active at all so i know that i am not pregnant. I keep a record of my periods on a calendar i have in my room. So when i didn't start when i was supposed to i became worried. Because i havent had a period for very long and i don't really know what to expect and i am scared that something is wrong with me. Please help!!

kgirl95,
It is very, very normal for teenagers to have irregular periods, especially since this is only your 3rd period ever! You may have irregular periods for a year (maybe longer), where they are so irregular that they do not come every month. This is completely normal when you are just starting out with your menstrual cycle.

Do you have a trusted female adult that you can talk with about your period, either a family member, a family-friend or a teacher or school nurse?
