I have been having unprotected sex with my fiance' for the past month or so and he has finished in me as well. I thought I started my period but it was so light(a light red/pinkish color occasionally a brownish color) and only lasted a couple days when it always lasts 4-5 days. My cramps were even different. I usually cramp really bad the first day and thats it but this time my cramps were very mild but lasted like 3 days after I started bleeding. Also my appetite has increased.. I'm hungry like ask the time lately. And also been randomly light headed...I just have felt a little off lately if that makes sense....HELP

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for reaching out to us with your concern about possible implantation bleeding.

Implantation bleeding occurs about six to 12 days following conception. It is the result of the fertilized egg implanting itself in the lining of the uterus. Some women experience mild cramping. Implantation bleeding is scanty and pink or brown in color. It lasts only a few days and goes away without increasing in amount.

Now would be a good time to take an early response pregnancy test. Test using the first urine of the day.

Best wishes,
Maryann

I took a dollar tree preg. test and it said negative..I bled or spotted starting on the 18th and I spotted off and on for the next 2-3days. Is it too early or do u think it's really a negative?

Hi Anonymous,

If the spotting stopped after the third day and didn't increase to a normal period flow, and your period is late by at least seven days, retest.

Buy a name brand product. Check the expiration date. Test in the morning, using the first urine of the day.

If you still get a negative result, consult your health care provider.

Regards,
Maryann
