Hi Anon,

Thank you for sharing your question with the EmpowHER community!

Experiencing irregular bleeding is typical when you stop taking birth control. Implantation bleeding is often very light and will not be heavy.

Here is more detailed information on implantation bleeding

Anytime you have unprotected sex, you risk pregnancy. No one can tell you over the Internet if you are pregnant. You'll just have to take a pregnancy test. I know it can be really scary. It sounds to me like you got your period and it was just really irregular from stopping your birth control.

Anon, why did you stop taking birth control? If you and your boyfriend are going to be having sex a lot, it's wise to stay on birth control and use condoms so that you don't get pregnant.

Did this help?

Best,

Kristin
