Hi I am so lost and need some help. I was on depo for 6 years and never had a period, suddenly last year I had a period lasting about 4 weeks, so they put me on the pill for a month to regulate my menstural, after I got on track I started back with the depo. This year I had the same problem. So I received my last shot in may and started the pills. I have been on them every since. My next shot was due in Aug, 2 weeks ago I missed 3 pills and had unprotected sex that weekend. Like 2 days after having sex I bled for 3 days. I haven't taken the pills since the last 3 I missed. I got off my period or whatever it was this pass wed, then I had unprotected sex Friday. I am so lost and don't know how I can get my body back on track, or if I could be pregnant cause I don't normally have periods. Please help me!!!

Guide

Hi anon and welcome to EmpowHER!

It's very understandable that you would be concerned and confused and very frustrated right now. You've certainly been through a lot!

You mention your next shot was due in August, does that mean you did not have one, continued on the birth control  pills and then missed three pills? If so, skipping the pills could be contributing to the irregular cycles. You also mention having unprotected sex after skipping the pills. Any time you have unprotected sex it can result in a pregnancy. It would be advisable to have a pregnancy test and to also set up a visit with your gynecologist to get help in sorting out which birth control options would be best for you in light of the problems you have had in the past.

Hope that helps!

Thank you so much, no I didn't get the shot in Aug, I just stuck with the pills, now I'm scared that I might be pregnant. Now I'm having a thick and slimy pinkish discharge and I don't know what that means.
