Hello,
I missed my birth control pills for almost a week and started it as soon as I got approval pack from my doctor. My periods started after a few days but it didn't stop till today. I experience some spotting everyday and not the "actual periods". It's been almost 2 and a half weeks now. Please advise me on how I can tackle this health problem. I need this to get over as soon as possible. As far as work schedule is concerned, I am working round the clock so it's crucial for me to stay fit and healthy. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello and welcome to EmpowHer,
August 14, 2016 - 5:50amThe most likely cause is that your hormones were imbalanced from taking the pills irregularly.
In general your period should return to normal once you are back on the pills regularly.
If you continue to bleed while taking active pills there may be a more serious problem.
Below I have pasted an article that talks about the causes of prolonged periods.

I hope that helps.

Thank you so much for your time and guidance. Should i wait for some more time for my periods to stop? I have started exercising as well and i am taking efforts to eat properly. Please advise on this. Thank you.

If it does not stop within the next few days, definitely make an appointment with a gynecologist.
