Plan B to affect period?

Hey guys!

I had sex a few days ago, on the 25th. at around 11AM and our condom had broke. We only noticed after he had climaxed. We immediately went to the pharmacy to get the Plan B pill and I took both [cause that's what the pharmacist told me to do] at around 7PM.

My period is supposed to be due today, but I was wondering whether I should expect it or not. Will the pill stop my period from coming today?

I've only been experiencing headaches and a bit of fatigue,
but I've also been working hectic hours for Christmas so I'm not sure if it's necessarily the pill that is causing it.
I almost never get headaches, though.

I haven't gotten my period today, but it's not regular. It's often a day or two off.
It's just that my last period landed on the 28th, so I thought it would come today.
I'll keep you updated though!

Thanks Diane!
Always a great help.

You're so welcome.

Your extra hours and the stress of the holiday season is enough to mess with anyone's cycle. The hormones we activate during stressful times can affect the hormones that keep our cycles regular and on time.

Don't fret too much, and I hope your hectic work time is over now. I'm sure your'e fine, and I eagerly await your update.

I got my period today, thankfully.

My headaches are also gone, and I now have three days off.
Work is really calming down, so I'm glad.

If I were pregnant, would my period have come today?
Thank you again, Diane.

Bemine4ever,

Yes, Plan B can affect your period. I can't tell you for sure whether it will come today or tomorrow or this week, but Plan B does often change when it comes. It might make it come sooner or later, and it can be a little heavier or a little lighter than usual. It's one of the common side effects of the medication.

Possible side effects include:
•Changes in your period
•Nausea
•Lower Abdominal Pain
•Fatigue
•Headache
•Dizziness
•Breast Tenderness

Are you experiencing any other side effects?
