Last month my boyfriend and I were making out and dry humping. He was doing it from the back and we were in a spooning position. I had my panties on and he had his boxers on but he brought his penis out while he was rubbing it in between my legs. At the time I was due for my period for November too. And the entire time we were doing whatever we were doing I was extremely careful. I made sure he didn't ejaculate on me or into my panties. And after a little bit I made him stop rubbing up in between my legs with his penis bare. And he told me sperm can't travel through clothing but I didn't want to take chances regardless. The next morning I got my period for November. But ever since that day that we dry humped ive been mentally paranoid that I could be pregnant. Everyday I think about it and it's mental torture. I got my period last month on the 13th. It's December 18th now and I haven't gotten my period for this month. I'm extremely worried. Earlier this week I experienced some abdominal cramping and for some time now what feels like a little lump on the right side of my abdomen on the inside. Usually my breasts get tender and hurt before I get my period but I haven't experienced that once this month like I did last month before my period. I have never had sex before and dry humping was the closest I've had a penis to me before. And it didn't last long at all. I also work two jobs, one during the day and an overnight job. sometimes they meet back to back. And many times I don't sleep very much. 5 hours at most is what I would get. could stress and worrying about being pregnant be the reason my period is late now? It's been 7 days since I was supposed to have gotten it according to my period tracker. Please help I'm worried sick.

Back in December I was on the last day of my period and I had started a new pack and new brand of birth control for that matter. My boyfriend and I were dry humping and I had pajama pants, underwear, and a pad on and he had basketball shorts and underwear on. Then I gave him a handjob and he ejaculated while I was fully clothed. We immediately went and washed our hands off and he cleaned himself up. But then later I noticed a small dot that was damp on the middle of my inner thigh probably about 4-6 inches away from my vagina. We aren't sure if it's sperm or water but now I'm worried I might be pregnant from that. I have had my period since then and started a new pack of birth control since then. I was just wondering if you could tell me if it's possible I might be pregnant. I've been worrying so much for the last week it seems. Thank you.

Hello, Anon.

You cannot get pregnant from a spot of ejaculation on your clothed thigh nor can you from dry humping. Intercourse with ejaculation inside you would have to happen for pregnancy to occur. Try not to dwell on such far-fetched pregnancy scenarios as they will only stress you out. Educating yourself on sex will help. There are many resources here on EmpowHER that you can browse. Try to relax :)

Dear Anon,

I'm sorry you are so stressed over this. You cannot get pregnant from dry humping. Your clothing acts as a barrier, preventing penetration. There was no intercourse/ejaculation inside you. If you do decide to have intercourse, please make your boyfriend wear a condom.

Best,
Helena
