Q:

please how will i know if my hymen is intact, i have never had sex. i once put a finger 2 check if it will enter through the hole and it did, does that mean that my hymen is broken or is just the whole where discharges and menstrual blood come out from?

Hi Ramibdz,

Putting your finger through your vagina will not let you know if you are a virgin. The hymen, contrary to popular belief, is not a piece of flesh that completely blocks the entrance to your vagina-- otherwise, how would you menstruate? It is more like a piece of tissue in the opening of the vagina.
Although some women claim to see their own hymen, unless you're a gynecologist with stirrups, It is VERY difficult to check your own hymen. Riding a bicycle, other sports activities, or inserting a tampon can tear your hymen--some women are even born without a hymen. This doesn't mean that you are not a virgin, if you have never had sex then you are a virgin-- don't get too caught up in this Hymen myth.

Best of luck,

Rosa

Hi Ramibdz,

Candida is the cause for a yeast infection. If you have been treated for it, sometimes you will have to be treated again because the first round of anti-fungals was not successful. Ask your doctor if there is something else that can be prescribed or if there is anything you can do at home along with the antifungal. Wearing white cotton panties, comfortable pants/shorts that are not too tight, and not over cleaning the area can help decrease your chances of getting it again in the future.
