I saw my period in July, I didn't see in July and I saw it at the end of August.
The colour of the blood was so red and light, it came for two days and stopped.
Then I had unprotected sex on the third day with my spouse and it started to come out again and it was much that it stained the bed. The blood flow continued for 3days and it finally stopped and ever since I have not seen my period till date. Please I will really be happy if I get medical help and suggestions from you. Thanks Mariam

Guide

Hello Mariam,

Welcome to EmpowHER. Thank you for reaching out to us for help.

The menstrual cycle is regulated by a delicate balance of hormones, including follicle-stimulating hormone, estrogen, progesterone, and luteinizing hormone. The pituitary gland produces follicle-stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone.

Anything that upsets this balance causes irregularities in the menstrual cycle. During perimenopause, estrogen levels fluctuate. Irregularities in the menstrual cycle are a sign of early perimenopause. Some women experience the early signs in their late 40s, while most begin in their 50s.

Mariam, I strongly suggest you schedule an appointment with your gynecologist. With a physical and medical exam, along with any diagnostic tests, including blood tests or an ultrasound, your doctor can determine the cause.

Regards,
Maryann
