I have been diagnosed with PMDD. I do agree with this diagnosis. My symptoms are only 2 weeks before my period. Both of my pregnancies I never had symptoms like this. They have prescribed 10mg 2 weeks before my period and during period off. They also suggested high doses of Calcium, B6, and Magnesium. If this does not help they may offer birth control and then also determine if this could be fibromyalgia. Any suggestions? Does this seem like the right path?

Hi,
You did not to mention what has been prescribed at 10 mg.
I found this article on PMS & PMDD on the Massachusetts General Hospita websitel: http://www.womensmentalhealth.org/specialty-clinics/pms-and-pmdd/?gclid=CKex25yd9qwCFUQRNAod_BgGSg
It is very thorough and addresses various treatment options.
There is a section on the use of calcium, vitamin B6 and magnesium. You may find that section and the sections addressing lifestyle changes helpful.
I hope that the information provided by Massachusetts General Hospital can help you manage your symptoms and make an educated decision on the treatment presented by your physician.
