Q:

Possibility of pregnancy?

Hi, I'm having pretty much the same problem. The only thing my boyfriend and I do is dry hump. I do give him handjobs and I make sure to clean up after, but my primary concern is that if at any moment some ejaculate landed on the bed and I accidentally sat on it, or since it lands on his tummy mostly and I snuggle with him it might get in me. I have always had late periods but this time it's 9 days late. I am worried that I'm pregnant. I do however remember that in january I have been fasting more and just drinking water. I have also been stressed with school. Could that be why I skipped a month? I recently felt like fainting and slightly nauseous. Please help!

Hello AngesLamb,

Welcome to the EmpowHER community. Thank you for reaching out to us with your concern about missing your period.

Stress and fasting are the most likely reasons you missed your period.

Sitting on a wet spot of semen on the bedlinens and snuggling up after he ejaculates on himself should not pose a risk for pregnancy. He should remove any ejaculate and wash up before snuggling, just to be safe.

Maryann

Thank you for taking the time to answer, it calmed me down a lot more. Is it for sure that it cannot cause pregnancy? I have been feeling a bit bloated and nauseous (with the occasional headache) after I almost blacked out. Could it be anxiety that is making me feel the typical telltale pregnancy symptoms?

Hello AngesLamb,

Glad to have helped. I do not think either of these activities would lead to pregnancy. Anxiety can definitely cause bloating and nausea.

I have recently felt more pain and I have brown discharge rather than bleeding. Now I have some light bleeding occurring. Some sites still tell me it's pregnancy or a possible miscarriage? Is it pregnancy or a very wonky period?

Hello AngesLamb,

Since there was no risk of becoming pregnant, I doubt your symptoms are related to being pregnant or having a miscarriage.

Consider scheduling an appointment for an exam with a gynecologist. This would be a good time to find out why your periods is late and a chance to talk about birth control optioms.

Regards,
Maryann
