possible pregnancy?

I've been on the patch for about 5 months now, this last couple weeks I've been changing my patch to where I was pretty much a week late. My boyfriend of a year and a half have protected sexual intercourse but only protected by the patch. I'm not sure about my cycle as I never paid attention to it at all, but these past three days I have noticed something that has never happened. I'm due for my period in less than a week and once a day for the past three days there has been just a smudge a brown on my undies. I was wondering if its at all a possiblity that was IB, and I would be pregnant?

Guide

Hello Anonymous,

Considering your only protection is the patch, and you have been about a week late, pregnancy is possible.

Implantation bleeding is scanty, pink to brownish vaginal discharge. It occurs about 10 to 14 days following conception. Unlike your period, implantation bleeding generally lasts for a short time and is usually much lighter than menstrual bleeding.

If your period is late by more than one week, take a home pregnancy test.

Regards,
Maryann
