Q:

Possibly pregnant?

I'm 19, and pretty much on my own. I am currently stationed at my boyfriend's house, and have been for about a year and a half.

My period usually is before his mom's or after, or before his sister's or after. His mom is before the sister usually. However, both have now finished the periods, and I've never received a hint of mine. I was going to start tracking my periods this month, but saying as this has happened, I'm usually within the first two weeks of the month.

I've taken 2 urine tests, both are negative though they were a $1.00 at a local dollar store, if that makes any difference. Should I take a blood test or wait longer? I've had unprotected sex with my boyfriend for 2 years, and nothing like this has ever happened, making me think I was unable to conceive. I thought I might have been pregnant a few times, but my period usually came very soon after. As I'm usually pretty regular. Could I possibly still be to early to tell if I'm pregnant.

I just want a piece of mind, but I'd also like to know because I think I am unable to conceive. I will be greatly appreciated of any answer. I am sorry not to have any more info.

I know its been years, but I thought I'd update.

I did end up and found out I was due July 13, 2012. I had a boy July 11, 2012! We moved out 2 months after my son was born, and we married on 12-12-12 on our anniversary. I got on the depo shot right away.

However, a year later I found out I was pregnant again and due April 12, 2014. I had a girl April 4, 2012. I feel so lucky to have both a boy and a girl. Even though I wasn't ready for another baby, I wouldn't trade it for the world. I love them to pieces, and being a mother is one of the greatest things I have ever done!

It has been a life changing experience, and I may not have been ready but it put my life into place. I'm a stay at home mom, while my husbands works. It is tough, but I love being able to spend this time with my babies. Thank you everyone who commented for your advice. My mom did have a hard time when I told her I was pregnant, but she came around and is an awesome Grandma. She learned how to crochet and makes so many things for my kids. She even made my baby shower cake when I was pregnant with my son.

I love being a mom more than anything, and it has actually brought me and husband closer than ever, even though we were pretty close to begin with. Our wedding day was planned for that day regardless of finding out I was pregnant, but it just made it all the more special. I'm on the Mirena IUD now, I hope this one decides to work unlike the shot. I really am not ready for another now, two in diapers is hectic enough. Lol

Thank you! And yep, I plan on thinking about having one when I know I am financially stable enough and I have the time to put into child raising. I want it all planned out nice and neat. :)

I think I should be fine though, as long as I feel pretty healthy I believe everything will be ok. I'm glad I had this site to go to when I felt a little scared. Hopefully it'll be on much better terms when I decide to tell another story. Best of luck to all of you as well. :) And thanks again! ♥

Hi Starzinmyeyes,
I am glad it was not unplanned pregnancy, but I would suggest to get yourself checked up for the time when you do feel like having a baby, I think as women, its something we all look forward to. I am only 25 and can wait until I am settled and am in a graduate school before I can take the responsibility of raising a child but I do plan on it. I would really suggest making an appointment with the doctor to question this if it concerns you. However, it is entirely up to you! I am glad you updated us! :)
Best of luck!

By the way, the reason I believe it may be a miscarriage is because during these three late periods, they are a month late, and are way heavier bleeding causing me to be really tired and drained, and (sorry to gross you out) they have huge blood clots and alot of them, I even have it where some hangs from me and I have to pull it out. That part indeed has happened to all three of the late periods. They are way more painful then my regular periods, the reason I haven't been on here sooner since I started Saturday afternoon. Also my regular periods start in the morning usually, when the late ones are always during the middle of the day. I'm not sure if they are miscarriages or not, but that is what I think, though honestly it'd break my heart so I try to dismiss them. This would be the third time this has happened though. If you can tell what you think I'd be happy. Other than that, I thought I'd give my thoughts why. Thank you for all the help through this. :)

Thanks for all the help! As it turns out my period, or possible miscarriage though I can't tell how to tell, has arrived. Though still proving that after all this time of regular sex every other day, or everyday sometimes for almost three years, nothing still happens. I just can't seem to get pregnant, though I have had three times where I missed a month like this. I'm not sure whats wrong with me, but I suppose as for now its for the best. My future for having kids looks bleak however. Thanks for bearing with me, and in the future when I do finally decide the time is right for a baby, this will be the sight I choose for guidance. Thank you all very much! :)

I know, waiting is difficult. I have had my own share of scares in the last months (even though its only been with anal but you never know). If it helps, I am also waiting on my thesis advisor, upon whose hands my career's future rests and its as nerve-wrecking!

Thank you very much, I'll look into them. Monday, if still no period, I'll try again on the home pregnancy test. If still nothing I believe it'll be doctor time. Thank you for all the help, I'll certainly still keep it posted. Waiting is certainly hard though.

Hi StarzinMyEyes,
After reading your comment, I googled it and I could be wrong because I myself am not expert in this area. But, I found something that you could look at. I don't know if it means anything:

Its just based on speculation of course, but it will be better to get one's self tested and have medical opinion to be sure so that you can plan well. Any who, its still not confirmed yet so this was just based on a speculation. I wish you good luck and best wishes! :)

Hmm ok if I am, I'll check it out. I had something weird happen to me today though, I felt a drip and thinking I was about to start my period I went to the bathroom. However, when I sat and barely push this huge rush of liquid came out, and I barely felt it. It was clear like water, it was weird. I hadn't even drank anything today or last night. It could b e just normal but I thought I'd say it just in case.

If you are pregnant, I'd highly recommend you get a copy of "Well Adjusted Babies" so you can find out everything you need to know about it -- it's the greatest book i ever found about having a healthy pregnancy and baby :)
