Post period cramps?

I am on birth control (although i'll admit im not perfect at keeping up on the time I take it) and my husband sometimes uses condoms but general pull out method as we are not trying. However, ever since my period ended 14 days ago I have been getting cramps off and on like I am expecting to start my period. They are easing up though and not as often now. I understand that pregnancy could be an option since I suck at keeping up on my BC and we walk a dangerous line with pull out but why would the cramping start that early? Im wondering if it was something from right before my last period? I can't test yet as I just now would have O'd 4 days ago. But I didn't know if it was normal to be getting cramps immediately following period for 2 weeks now?

Hello jallen050812,

Welcome to the EmpowHER community. Thank you for reaching out to us with your concern about cramping.

If you have a 28 to 30 day menstrual cycle, the cramps could be ovulation cramps. Ovulation, as you know, generally occurs about 14 days following the last day or your last period.

Another possibility is implantation cramps. Pregnancy is possible from what you have shared.

If the cramping persists or worsens, please contact your physician. It could be none of the above mentioned.

Should your next period be late by at least seven days, take a pregnancy test.

Regards,
Maryann
