Hi.
My query is very twisted and need your support and advise please. Almost a year back I had an unplanned pregnancy and since I was not aware, I was sufferreing from viral fever for which I took some medicines and they did'nt suit me well. I had to go for a surgical abortion. 3 months post the surgery, I was diagnosed with Brain TB and now I have been on medication for that for a year now. Now my doctor clarifies that I have recovered and now I can plan a family. He has advised me to have Folvite tab but along with I am also taking Levipil 500 as a medication to counter the seizures caused by Brain TB; this levipil medication, the doctor would reduce in next 6-8 months.
If I should not plan my pregnancy now, then when will it be suitable to go ahead?
Should I take Folvite tab for all 6-8 months or do I take it in the last 3-4 months of my Levipil medication?
Please help me resolve all the queries as I am very confused.
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Sheena

Hi Sheena,
It might be advisable, but this is something you should discuss with your doctor. He is the one who prescribed this medication to you and the only one that can advise you in what you should do, as far as conceiving while on Levipil.

Hi Daisy,
Thankyou for your response. Though my doctor says that I can plan for pregnancy, but I am still concerned if taking Levipil tab would or wouldn't have an adverse effect. Ideally is it advisable to plan pregnancy after complete medication is stopped?

Hi Sheena,
Welcome to EmpowHER. This is something you will have to discuss with your doctor as far which medication to take and if they will be safe when trying to conceive.
