Q:

Pregnancy spotting or period?

I am due on my period 9th May, but started spotting yesterday. Only when I wipe and had a tiny amount of blood (pea size) in my pad - I started off bright red and then went brown, it had a tiny blood clot in it midday. It has stopped now (on day two). Me and my boyfriend had unprotected sex the last day of my period, the day after my period and the day after that. We then had sex during my fertile window (measured on an app), but that time he pulled out. The past week I have felt constantly tired, and sick - the sickness is worse in morning and evening. I also had tender breath on and off, and a very bloated stomach. My appetite has increased dramatically, even ate 4 meals in one day with snacks.
Am I pregannt or is it in my head?

Dear Anon,

Thank you for writing.

The symptoms you describe can also be signs your period is on its way. If you are concerned and you don't get your period within a week (or so) of the expected date, take a pregnancy test for peace of mind.

Hi,

if he ejaculated inside you, yes. If your period does not come, take a test. They are accurate 14-21 days after sex. Some women like to wait until after they miss their period. It's up to you.
