Pregnancy symptoms but test is negative, what is wrong with me?

Hi,
I did have unprotected sex with husband during ovulation week. We were not actively trying but we are not preventing. Within a week of that began too feel nauseated and extremely fatigued. I took 1 early test it was negative but it was about 5 days early. Anyways, my period was late by a couple of days but it was not normal at all. First day thought it was normal like but very light and then the next 2 days I just used a pantyliner that never really collected anything but when I wiped a watery, reddish color kind of as if I cut myself (not period like). It seems like it would be too late in cycle for implantation bleeding. My "pregnancy symptoms" have continued and I have slightly tender breasts, heavy feeling in abdomen as if period is coming but nothing. I took a another pregnancy test today but negative (1 day after the mystery period). Ok, so not pregnant but what is going on. I have very regular, consistent periods and have never experienced anything like this. Thyroid issues, ectopic pregnancy. ..so confused. I will go to the Dr. but just got insurance and need to still wait a bit. Any ideas?

Hello Anonymous,

I can appreciate how confused you must be. I can sympathize with the fact that the regulations of insurance coverage are delaying when you can be seen by an obstetrician.

Anonymous, I wouldn't rule out pregnancy until you have had a blood hCG test and been examined by an obstetrician.

My suggestion is take care of yourself as if you are pregnant. Avoid alcohol, eat healthy and be sure you are getting an adequate daily intake of folic acid.

If you are not pregnant, no harm done. If you are, then you have started doing the right thing for you and your baby.

Please keep us updated.

Thank you for the feedback. Everything in my gut tells me I am and trust me I am not the kind of person who just really wants it. It would be a blessing and all but we weren't actively trying. My mom had her "period" for 2 months with my sister so she didn't even know she was pregnant. I know it is rare to be pregnant but not show positive on a test so of course naturally my brain is working over time. I will continue to act healthful just in case. You are right very confusing when your body starts acting different and you don't have any obvious reason why. I am hoping there is nothing seriously wrong with me. Can't wait for my insurance cards to come so I can make an appt. and get some clarification.
Thank you for your time.
