Pregnant during Withdrawal Bleeding: No Ejaculation (Continued Birthcontrol after)

I missed 5 active pills of Sprintec and experience withdrawal bleeding. I had unprotected sex during these 4 days of withdrawal bleeding. I started a new pack of birth control pills after the 4th day. I had only taken the birth control for about 2 weeks. What are the chances of getting pregnant during withdrawal bleeding? There was no ejaculation inside the vagina at any point.

Guide

Hi Anon and thanks for your question.

There is always a risk of pregnancy during unprotected sex, even when you are using birth control pills. Of 100 women who use this method each year, about nine may get pregnant.

In order to get pregnant, live sperm must enter the vagina. If there was no ejaculation inside your vagina during the time in which you had "unprotected sex" then you are not at risk for pregnancy.

Hope that helps,

Pam
