Hi Anon,
No problem, glad I can help! :) It sounds very possible that your prolonged period could be coming from the combination of stress and volleyball.
Being very involved in sports and working out constantly can have some changes on your menstrual cycle. I think that combined with your stress may be changing it even further.
I would recommend scheduling an appointment with your doctor and telling them what has been going on and what symptoms you've been experiencing. They will be able to let you know what lifestyle adjustments you can make to help get your period back on track.
Keep me updated after your doctor appointment and let me know how everything goes!

Hi Anon,
Thank you for reaching out and sharing your question with EmpowHER! I'm sorry you have to deal with a longer than usual menstrual cycle this past month.
Typically a menstrual cycle lasts between 3-7 days, but there are several things that can cause a longer than usual menstrual cycle. Some causes of prolonged periods include stress, change in diet, change in exercise, weight loss, uterine fibroids, uses of certain drugs like steroids or blood thinners, and recent illness.
Since you are so involved in volleyball and exercise frequently, that could be causing your prolonged periods. Have you had any recent changes to your diet or do you feel more stress lately?
It's always a good idea to talk to your doctor too. They can assess the situation in detail and let you know the cause of your prolonged period and how to get it back on track.
I hope this helped! Please keep me updated and let me know if you have further questions.

Thank you so much for reaching out and helpin me I really have been scared about this. Yes I am quite involved in volleyball. I have actually been quite stressed with a lot of big tests coming up but my diet hasn't really changed. I mean try to eat healthier but I also allow myself to eat some fast food but it hasn't drastically changed. Do you think the reason why I my period is lasting so long is because of stress and volleyball?
