PTSD? Pregnancy? Light Period

Hi Empowher
Just a quick question.
Just to clarify i've had an eating disorder previously and do not eat as much. Also, i did fast for a few days before the bleeding started.
Here's the situation: i was towards the end of my monthly cycle and was sexually assaulted. He did not insert his penis at all but i cant remember if his penis was erect and whether there was any pre-ejaculate fluid. I know he definitely came because he was jackin himself off. I wasn't even concerned about pregnancy until i received some counselling and the lady said to get it checked out and who told me its totally possible.

I've been re-thinking about the situation again and again and again and seem to be feeling like a crazy lady. I've always charted my cycles on on average my longest cycle is 38 days. I started to bleed on day 36 which started off as brown spotting (totally normal before my period) but then i started to bleed (colour which is bright red) but seems to be lighter than my usual cycle (its quite a lot when i wipe but not enough to fill up a pad)...also accompanied by a some cramping.
The bleeding has been continuous so i don't know whether to take it as a light menstrual period due to stress and dietry changes or bleeding from the trauma. I take that it cant be implantation bleeding because i've read that its kinda impossible for implantation to happen a day after conception and usually takes up to 3+ days ...Do you recommend i take a HPT? I've only told one of my friends who recommended this site to me and who's e-mail i am using... (P.s. Please can you keep my name anonymous because this is really embarrassing for me and is culturally frowned upon)...Your insight would be well appreciated...Thankyou

Hi, Anon.

Welcome to our community.

Given all that has happened, I think this your period, though lighter than usual. But now that the thought has been put into your mind about pregnancy, it will likely stay there. If only for your peace of mind, go ahead and test. HPTs are accurate 14-21 days after sex. I think you need to see it for yourself so you can move on. It's a good idea to see your gynecologist as well.

I'm very sorry this happened to you and I hope in time you will be able to put it behind you.

Keep us updated.

Thankyou so much Helena
Your support means alot to me.
Yeah, I will definetly keep you updated. However, will need to wait for a couple of days.
Can changes in diet and stress cause periods to be light? I did fast a couple of days and I am really skinny anyway?

I also think it's my period because I don't see me ovulating so later in my cycle anyway. There seems to be lots of chances in the situation. Like I had to be ovulating, there had to be something on his hands ., and the chances of all that happening seem so low.

Hi,

Yes, being underweight can impact your cycle.
