Ok well I had unprotected sex on 15th August and the next day within 24 hours I took the morning after pill. Exactly a week later on the 22nd August I started bleeding and I had this for 2-3 days. I normally have my period within the first week of a month ( Dont know exact dates sorry) and I had my normal period at the beginning of auguest before the unprotected sex. Its now the 15th September and I havnt had my period again yet... Im getting seriously concerned. Ive taken 6 pregnancy tests all of which have come out negative, but for the last week to week and a half ive been getting minor cramps and aches and pains in my legs (which i normally have before i come on) but still have had no period!! Someone please help with my situation... Im so stressed about it, I cant eat, I cant sleep, its all i think about! Help Help Help!

Hi girls, I'm going through a similar situation and would be extremely grateful if someone could put my mind at ease, as it is racing at the moment!
My last period was June 14th, had sex on the 20th and the condom split. I took the morning after pill that day, around an hour after it happened. It has been a month and 11 days since the incident and I still have had no period, only period pains. I have taken 5 tests, all came back negative and even spoke to a nurse who said that it's very unlikely I'm pregnant. Should I go to the doctors or just wait for it?
Thank you :)

Hi Anon
Thank you for your post!
Emergency contraceptives are up to 95% effective when taken as prescribed within the first 24 hours and up to 90% effective if taken within 72 hours, so the risk is very small. It works by preventing ovulation and stopping a pregnancy from starting. It is not an abortion pill. It prevents a pregnancy, it does not end one. Side effects can include stomach aches, headaches, breast pain, nausea and a general feeling of being unwell.
The more frequently they are taken, the more likely a woman is to have side effects and an irregular cycle. They should be taken only for emergencies, not used as a method of birth control.
Symptoms usually start 2-7 days after taking the medication and may or may not include bleeding or spotting. Not all women get symptoms. Some get many, or a few, or none.

In your case, I would follow the advice given and wait for your period to come. 5 tests are enough to confirm you are not pregnant. Periods can often be delayed or longer/shorter as a result of taking emergency contraception. We cannot predict this for our readers in terms of length of delays. Each women is different. Periods should get back to normal by the second cycle after.
Best,
Susan

Hi guys, so interesting reading everyone's stories and how similar they are but can still gain no clarity on the whole 'morning after pill' fiasco.
I was just wondering if anyone has had similar to what I'm currently experiencing.
So last September I had a colposcopy as my cervix had high amounts of CIN 3 all over it. I regained normal periods by December then beginning of January had a stupid night with my recent ex of who we had split from being together 4 years.
After 'the deed' we spoke and had got lost in the moment that I hadn't been on conception since I had my colposcopy in September and agreed to be safe that I get the Lenovo I think it's called. Me and this particular guy had been pregnant 2 years earlier and to cut a long story short I was bullied into termination. Not that I like using that term and took me a long time to come to terms with it but after much counselling for me to go on as normal what I did I accepted what I had been put through was torment by other people's wishes instead of following my own heart.
Anyways rambling off. I took the morning after pill approx 16hrs after had no sickness dizziness or anything. A few days later bled a super light bleed (as I'm normally very very heavy) for about 2 days and it's now been 3 months 3 missed periods, 4 negative pregnancy tests and Ive just today gone the doctors for a blood test because I have another colposcopy next week and if I am pregnant it can cause miscarriage as they laser my cervix.
I cannot seem to find any feeds where people have gone more than 2 months without a missed period.
I know it can play games with periods after a morning after pill but this is just silly now.
Thankyou for reading my novel XD
Hopefully someone has some insight or similar experience

If it makes you feel better, my body naturally goes months without me having a period. When I first got my period I only had a year, then I was put on birth control. Later in life as an adult, I no longer take bc and my periods are back to being extremely irregular. As far as the rest goes with the morning after pills, I prefer Plan B and I have a period about a week later, with Take Action there is no telling for me personally.

Hello! It's extremely embarrassing for me to be writing this because I know it was completely stupid of me but at the time I thought it would be okay until I did more research so please don't be rude. My boyfriend and I had unprotected sex Thursday the 18th. He "finished" inside of me three times. (We had already decided to get the morning after pill) the next morning I went and purchased the take action pill. I had read it makes you very sick so I waited until after work to take it (11 hours) we had figured it was still in my system so we had unprotected sex 2 more times. I haven't experienced any bleeding after taking the pill. I believe my period is coming around the 28th of this month. I don't think I was ovulating during this time. If I am it's okay I'm just curious?

I had my last period around the 9th November and I was a few days late as I came on on the 6th October. However, my period is a few days late, I'm not sure if this is some weird pattern or what. It could be due to stress from University work and me and my boyfriend have had a major rough patch so I've been so upset this past week, although everything is OK now. I took a test last night for pregnancy, and to my relief it was negative.

Yesterday afternoon me and my boyfriend had unprotected sex, stupidly, but you know heat of the moment and all that jazz! Anyway, I went to the clinic this morning for the morning after pill and explained my situation. The nurse assured me the negative test should be some what accurate and my late period may well be due to the stress and upset I have gone through this past week. He said I should do a pregnancy test in 3 weeks to make sure this M.A.P has worked. He explained it's probably unlikely that I am pregnant due to having unprotected sex so near my period and I took the pill within 24 hours, however, this isn't always the case.

I'm just worried the M.A.P is going to delay my period even more and this will worry me even more and I'll be certain that I'm pregnant. Obviously, I won't know until a test is done in 3 weeks time but I'm just wondering do you think my period is just late due to stress etc. as I feel like I am going to come on, and have felt this for the past few days- tender breasts, minor back ache and very emotional. And, do you think I have a high chance of being pregnant from the incident yesterday?

Just need to put my mind at rest! Any help and advice will be appreciated. I've also received the mini pill now to take when my period comes along!
