Questions about Pregnancy??

Hello...it is DavnTuk again.....can anybody help me here please....

Thank you all for all of your very helpful updates on pregnancy and fertility and the PILL. We have been trying this month to get pregnant. Stopped taking "Yasmin" 1 week before beginning of cycle, on November 23. Cycle: 5-days till Nov. 27....Made unprotected love Nov.27, 28 and 29.(days 5,6,7) then made love day 7 to day 14 everyday and then alternating day 12, 14, 16, 18, 21 and 23 day.....her period is clock work and should start?? 22/23 of December if she is not pregnant.

Question: Will she still show signs of a normal period like tender breasts and bloating, soreness, bleeding or spotting etc. etc. Normal period stuff, even if she might be pregnant? HELP PLEASE!

Question: Can she still have a semi-period, signs of period or spotting if she is pregnant? (it seems her period is starting now..10 days early??)

Question: When will she begin to really feel or sense that she might be pregnant?

Question: How many days after her period should have started, should we wait before we do a Pregnancy-test?

TUKTAR Just informed me that she thinks her period has started...This is strange because it is OUT of her regular monthly cycle/flow scenario. Last month while on "JAS" she started on the 26th, month before that on "JAS" she started on the 25th, month before that on "JAS" she started on the 28th......This month it seems to be starting on the 17th.....10-days to early??? She stopped taking "JAS" last month 1-week before her period was to start and announced she wanted to get pregnant SO.....that is why all the questions. Is any of this normal, out-of-sink or am I just being a nervous Nelly??

Question: Anything else you can think of I missed please.

Thank you,
David and Tuktar

DavnTuk,

It may very well be implantation bleeding-- though if it is, you may have actually conceived sooner than you think you did. Like Alison said, remember she just came off the pill and it may take some women a couple of months to get back to their regular ovulation cycle. This is not the case for everyone but do be aware of it.

As far as the symptoms, it may still be too early but many women swear they feel symptoms of pregnancy as soon as they conceive so it is all very, very subjective.

DavNTuk,

If she were to get pregnant, the earliest signs she may show are fatigue, breast tenderness, frequent urination and nausea. It IS possible for her to spot (pink or brown) blood as a sign of implantation bleeding-- when the fertilized egg implants itself onto the uterus. Full, period-like bleeding is rare and usually associated with a miscarriage if there is a positive pregnancy test involved.

Feeling pregnant is completely subjective. Most women start to feel the nausea, fatigue, frequent urination and breast tenderness as early as 5 weeks and as late as 8. Some women may only experience fatigue. Pregnancy also enhances sense of smell and cravings usually don't begin until after the first few weeks. I, personally, experienced no real cravings with my last. Remember every woman is different and every pregnancy is different.

If she misses her period, it is usually recommended to test one week later. If her period is like clockwork, though, she can test within a couple of days of being late.

However, you mention that she seems to have started her period 10 days early-- is this a regular period, or spot bleeding? Periods can change in cycle and can very well happen. Have you guys considered purchasing an Ovulation test so see which week she is most likely to be fertile?

Hope this answers your questions--Sending positive vibes your way!

Dear Rosa, Alison and others who have answered my questions....Thank you so much and please be patient with me if I ask what may seemingly be ignorant questions....This is my first baby and my wife is Thai and does not speak English so I am the middle man so to speak. My question at this point is: My wife is clock work Period and usually a very heavy period even when she was taking Yaz....it came between the 23 and 25 of every month and it was heavy......she has been off of Yaz since 1-week before the start of her last period as she decided she wanted to get pregnant now. At the 7th day of her cycle we started making love very regularly all the way through her 23rd day.....She started what appeared to be a very early period this month...on the 17th-ten days early and it was more like spotting...not heavy and only 3-days.....the spots were no more then nickle in size and pinkish not the heavy red/brown color as before.
QUESTION: Is it possible for my wife to be pregnant and still show the signs and even have a sort-of-semi-period???? She wants to know because this cycle was very much out of the norm for her....as long as we have been married and for as long as she has been taking birth control even before Yaz.....she has only been early by maybe a day or two at most...so 10-days seemed a little bit TOO early???
Thank you again...from Dave--Loving Husband and Hopeful Father!!!

Dear Rosa...it seems that after careful examination the period has not officially started. it is just 2-days of light pink spotting in a pad....so your comments here.. "Implantation bleeding really is a misnomer; it is more implantation "spotting", and most women do not notice it. Implantation "bleeding" occurs right around the time of an expected period, as it takes 10-14 days after ovulation for the fertilized egg to actually implant in the uterus...this is the reason that her bleeding now is most likely not implantation bleeding, because it is early...and is more likely her body readjusting to her natural menstrual cycles." We are taking it o heart. Tuktar notices things like this ....she is ne of the cleanest ladys I have ever met. If she goes out for 3-4 hours when she comes in she takes a shower and changes her pantys and cloths...that is when she noticed the other day...the pink-reddish light spots and told me she thought her period was here.....I asked her if it wasn't a little early and she said "yes...maybe 10 days".....and then said it was not heavy just light spots.....so this could be what you have referred to here...YES?

Dear Rosa Cabrera..... this is our first I have a lot of questions because I have been looking forward to this day forever.....So...You have answered my questions...we just hope now that it is real. The fact that she said today that she thinks she started her period was a little strange because she is Clock work within a few days one way or the other of the 25th each month...so for her to say now, on the 17th...it is a little early. She has also been complaining of tender breasts, urinating a lot at night and during the day...no nausea yet however she is forever hungry and eating all day now. If she got pregnant on or around the 1oth isn't this a little early for these signs already? or can they start soon after the egg is implants itself??? IF she is pregnant then it is only about 7-10 days....and maybe the feeling of her period starting or like you said she has been getting some light pink or brown spotting and thinks it is her period....it is just really early for her if it is. Thanks again for your comments. being a potential new father is exciting and I just want everything to be right and I want to be a part of this all the way thru!

Hi,
Congratulations on trying to conceive! As you know, since this is only your first month to actively start getting pregnant, that most couples take a few months to actually conceive, and many couples take up to 12 months to conceive....and this is completely normal and healthy. Did you know that with each cycle, the woman "only" has about a 20% chance of becoming pregnant?

It sounds like her period may be starting, and since she has been off of birth control for only one month, this is the more likely reason for an "early" period. Experts usually suggest the woman stopping her hormonal birth control for 2-3 months before trying to conceive, as it can take this long for the woman's cycles to naturally become regular again. She can become pregnant, of course, but you won't be able to determine what her "normal" cycles are at this point. When a woman is using hormonal contraception, she does not actually have a menstrual cycle...the synthetic hormones in the pill cause what is known as "withdrawal bleeding" every cycle, and her body is not actually having a menstrual period. It will take 2-3 months for her menstrual period to become normal and something you can "count on", assuming it is regular. Although...even regular period do ebb-and-flow each cycle, so even the most "clock work" cycle can still vary a few days.

Implantation bleeding really is a misnomer; it is more implantation "spotting", and most women do not notice it. Implantation "bleeding" occurs right around the time of an expected period, as it takes 10-14 days after ovulation for the fertilized egg to actually implant in the uterus...this is the reason that her bleeding now is most likely not implantation bleeding, because it is early...and is more likely her body readjusting to her natural menstrual cycles.

Keep trying...have fun with the "process" of baby-making, and try not to stress too much about the days, cycles, etc. Frequent sexual intercourse (every-other day) is all you need to be concerned about for the next few months! Please know that it really does take many couples SEVERAL months to become pregnant, just so you don't get your hopes up with each cycle. Enjoy this process now, and make it as stress-free as possible, because you are practicing the art of patience and calm while you can!

Hope this information helps!

Thank you both Alison and Rosa for your input and comments. Well we shall wait and see then. It appears that her period has NOT officially started and that it seems to be just some light pinkish spotting at this point. She is having the tender breasts, she is eating a lot more then normal and even she commented about this. She is also going to the bathroom a lot these days.....both at night and during the day....so! Who knows.
You did say that it is possible to get pregnant even now.....I am not sure that I understand your comment here though "as it takes 10-14 days after ovulation for the fertilized egg to actually implant in the uterus"...We started making un-protected love the first day her period ended and did so for three days and then we went alternating days from day 4-14 and then just sporadic until day23 which ended up being the day she saw some pinkish spots and thought her period had started??? so when you say it takes 10-14 days for the fertilized egg to implant...you mean from the time it is first released or the time it is first fertilized?? Not fully understanding you here.
Thank you again,
DavnTuk
