Whenever this hooking starts, I will receive a very sharp pain that may last for hours, and in the midst of this pain, I will also have stomach disorder. During this period, it will seem as if I am going to vomit, but will not, and I will feel so uncomfortable throughout the period it will last. Initially, I thought it was worm, and had to get some worm tablets, but for the past one month now, it has persisted. I was later informed that it was cold, and I have been using some balm to massage my back, but no improvement yet. Please, what exactly is it and what do I do about it?

Dear Anonymous,

Thank you for your post. It sounds like you would benefit from seeing your doctor as a result of your back pain and nausea. The back pain may be due to a muscle spasm that you may feel every now and then or due to something else--but you do have to get it checked out. Any time that you have back pain that begins for no apparent reason, it needs to be evaluated by your doctor.

One thing I can tell you is to stop trying to diagnose yourself. Sometimes we think we are helping ourselves when in fact we are doing more harm than good. When you do see your doctor, please explain your symptoms as well as what you've taken (ie. the worm tablets).

Keep us posted,

Rosa
