Regarding plan b one step

My last normal menstral cycle was on October 24th. I had intercourse on the 7th of November where the condom broke. I took plan b 9 hours after. My next period was due November 22nd. I bled the 15th-17th with a steady sometimes heavy flow and then had some spotting a couple days after. Should I consider that my period? I have also took a hpt on the 5th of December which was negative. And one at my doctors which was also negative. Would a pregnancy test be accurate by now since it has been 29 days after the incident?

Hi again,

I am trying to relax about this whole situation and I have noticed that my breasts seem heavy and I notice the blue vein. Could this still be from the hormones from plan b? I am supposed to be getting my period soon. Could this be a pms symptom? I can't stop looking things up online and everything that I am reading says I'm pregnant. I'm just really worried and I have been to my doctor twice since this has happened and I don't want them to think I'm crazy. My breasts don't really hurt either but they seem like they are a little fuller. I'm 5'1 and about 100 lbs. Maybe just the hormones have thrown my body really out of wack?

Hope to hear from you soon!

Thank you for the reply!

I think I am just making myself worry for no reason. But it was the first time I have taken it and so many different reviews on this medication. As what my doctor said I should be getting my next period around the 15th of this month. I recently have come down with a cold too but I thinking it is all the stress that I have been going through. I used to be on the pill but I had many reactions to it so I'm going to try it again once I get my period. But the bleeding I did get a week after taking the pill was my period?

Hi Anonymous25,

Thank you for visiting the EmpowHER community and asking your question.

Since you followed the directions correctly and had bleeding and the pregnancy tests were all negative, it is very unlikely that you are pregnant. A hpt would definitely be accurate 29 days after the mishap.

Plan b will really mess with your cycle and can take 2-3 months to get back on track.

Did this help?

Best,

Kristin
