Guide

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for your question.

Your physician, who ordered the blood test to check the function of your thyroid gland, is the person to make the diagnosis.

The information which you provided is incomplete, because you list TSH value as 18 without any measurement. On the lab report, the normal range of a value is always listed.

For example, one laboratory lists the reference range for TSH as 0.270-4.200 uIU/ml.

Anonymous, please speak with your physician. You should have a follow up appointment to discuss this lab test. Generally, a thyroid function panel is ordered when there is suspicion of a problem with thyroid function.

Regards,
Maryann
