I m 21.I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend 4.5 months ago.From then I had 4 regular periods but this 5th period came 5 days late and after having heavy flow of 5 days I m having brown discharge from 6th day to 12th day i.e. today.I want to know why is this so and how long will it last.Do I need to worry about it?

Hey I told you about that brown fischarge and now this month 39 days have passed but still I m not having my periods.I had unprotected intercourse 5.5 months ago i.e., in september and got 5 periods by then.Although last period was also irregular and I had brown discharge after that period for 6 days and no periods now and my lower abdomen is getting fatter and am having pain there.What does this indicate.A pregnancy or..?

Hello and welcome to EmpowHer,
Sometimes irregular periods can be caused simply by hormonal imbalances caused by stress, medication, change in diet etc. If you constantly have irregular periods for the next few months doctors usually recommend taking birth control pills to regulate your hormones. However I recommend getting a pap smear in order to confirm nothing more is going on besides hormonal changes.
