Q:

Risk of pregnancy

I have taken Ashlyna for almost 9 months. I have 2.5 weeks left in my three month pack before the placebo pills. I generally take my pills on time (with no more than 3 hours gap between the normal time I take them). However, I missed one pill earlier in the pack, and did not take it until 16 hours later. I have condom-protected sex on July 2, but the condom slipped off before he ejaculated. He immediately pulled out, but I was likely exposed to pre-ejaculate. I didn't take EC, but am now regretting that decision? Was I protected by the pill? Is there a risk of pregnancy here? (I know no birth control is 100%, so I'm talking about a substantial reason to worry.)

Guide

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER.

If the incident of a missed dose did not happen on the same day that the condom slipped, you should have been protected.

Nothing to do now but wait for withdrawal bleeding at the end of this pack.

Regards,
Maryann
