Hi Anonymous

Thanks for your question and for finding EmpowHER. I'm so sorry you are dealing with this difficult condition. It's horrible both physically and emotionally.

Scabies, as you know now, is an infestation of the skin that is usually caused by little critters called parasites.

If your infestations keep coming back after treatments, are you absolutely sure that you caught scabies in Miami? What makes you think you got it there? It's often caught through close contact, sexual contact or infested clothes, bed clothes, furniture etc. You may actually have this at home and hence the reinfestation.

It looks like this has been going on for several months now. My advice is to call your doctor about changing your treatment options and really check your surroundings at home or people you are in very close contact with (boyfriend/girlfriend) and see if the problem may be a home instead. You may have gotten this right before you left for Miami and didn't know it at the time. You may also need to check into a possible allergy to your scabies medications.

What do you think?
