Chickenpox is an airborne disease which spreads easily through coughing or sneezing by ill individuals or through direct contact with secretions from the rash. A person with chickenpox is infectious one to two days before the rash appears.

Hi selenajane,

Thank you for your question and welcome!

According to our encyclopedia, "The majority of infected individuals first notice a red rash known as erythema migrans (EM). The rash starts as a small red spot at the site of the tick bite and expands over a period of days or weeks, forming a circular or oval-shaped rash. Sometimes, the rash resembles a bull's eye, a red ring surrounding a clear area with a red center. The size of the rash can range from dime-sized to the entire width of a person's back.".

Have you had an official diagnosis since the bacteria was confirmed? Are you currently on any medication? Antibiotics can work quite well - when did this happen?
