Hi, on 11th may I had unprotected sex with a friend who's period was from 1 may to 6 may. I did not finish inside her. What are the risk for pregnancy? Was considering if we should take the morning pill or is it too late.

Hello, Anon.

Thank you for writing to us.

There is always some a risk when you have unprotected sex. If you did not ejaculate inside her or on the opening to her vaginal canal, it's not likely she would become pregnant. However, only you know exactly what happened. We can't advise whether to take emergency conception or not. I can advise you to use protection moving forward as accidents can easily happen.

Thank you for your reply. So on the 13th she took the postinor 2 pill. Would it be effective? Also what's the earliest date we can take a test?

Hi,

You should always read the information & directions before taking medication.

You have to take the POSTINOR pill within 72 hours of having unprotected sex. (For 2 tablets version of POSTINOR: take the second tablet after 12 hours after the first.)

HPTs are accurate 14-21 days after sex.
