Sex on birth control. No sign of period yet?

I’ve been using the combined pill for nearly 5 years now. I’ve only become sexually active about 2 years ago. In that time I’ve never let my long term boyfriend ejaculate inside of me. It’s always either been condoms or the pull out method. But this month, more recently this week, we started having sex with no barrier. Ejaculation and all. I’ve been faithful taking my pill and I haven’t missed one at all this month. I’ve even been taking them all within the hour, trying to keep my chances fo pregnancy low. Problem is, I always get my period on the same day but I haven’t gotten it yet. No sign of it at all. No cramping no spotting. It’s geen 2 days since I was supposed To get it. Do you think my chances were high enough to get pregnant? Should I take a test?

Hello Anon

Thank you for writing.

A test would be accurate by now but your risk is less than 1% even with full ejaculation.

The body can change over the years, even when regulated by hormones.

Best,
Susan
